I’m unemployed and cant find work
And not for want of trying
I’ve calculated on the National Minimum Wage
Just how many hours I need before I save
I don’t want variable or self-employed
I just want 25 hr or more and I’d be overjoyed
My friends say go freelance?
But I say not a chance.
Have you tried teaching English abroad?
But I could get isolated and bored.
I’m unemployed and cant find work
And not for want of trying
If only I could buy black market experience
I’d meet the job spec and gain their confidence
I have education and skills I’m certain
But putting “I’m willing to learn’ ensures my CV is forgotten
In my life I’ve sent out 1000 CVs
And had 20 jobs of various ease
2% success I’m told isn’t bad
Our economies that way and its sad
I’m unemployed and cant find work

I have no savings to relocate
And my overdraft payments I do hate
Funding is been cut left, right and centre
Good luck finding a bursary or sponsor
What of been a perennial student?
Ah, but 2nd time around requires payment
But next year the system is changing
You only pay fees after graduating!
